Silk Stockings: Perfect prep for spring!
I don't know about you but my legs have been in hiding since late October. Spring has crept up on me and there is many a sunny afternoon when I am thinking capris or shorts. The thing holding me back is my extremely pasty lower limbs. Lush has an instant solution with Silk Stockings. It's an all over body tint that is instantaneous. This all natural heart shaped bar rubs onto your skin just as a lotion bar would but it leaves behind a little color. The nice thing about using this instead of sunless tanners is that it is streak free and non-permanent. It just gets you through the afternoon and lets your body get sun while you're out. I am self-tanner challenged so I welcome a product that keeps me from having oddly orange hands. In addition to bumping up your ghostly gams it also Shea butter to moisturize your skin. It is very effective at hydrating dry skin - so you kill two birds with one stone. Bottom line from this mom - I really liked the jasmine scented bar. While it won't make you look like you just returned from the Caribbean it will give you a touch of color where you need it - combine that with it's stellar moisturizing powers and you get a permanent fan from me. Simply Stated - I gave this one 3 hearts because I while I noticed an increase to my coloring - I was hoping for a slightly darker shade. I also thought that it went on with a bit of a greasy feel. However it did do a good job of moisturizing and giving a slight color boost. I also found the price to be very reasonable.

Lime, Lavender, and Seaweed - You belong together!
Lush's Sea Vegetable soap pairs unlikely ingredients like lime, lavender, and sea weed to create something worth writing home about. I pretty much like everything about this bright beautiful square of cleansing power. I really am in love with the scent - it instantly makes me think of the beach. The aroma is wonderful and captures the essence of summer to me - it is a great way to wake up. I also like the way seaweed & sea salt is blended into the bottom of the soap to exfoliate your skin. The result is perfect - not itchy or too rough and it leaves my skin feeling so soft. My children are not big fans of exfoliating action but since less than half of the bar has seaweed in it - I simply use the top half on them. This is great for my whole family. It leaves skin feeling hydrated and the scent is something that we all like (including my husband). I can't rave enough about the smell....seriously - I want it as a body spray, a candle, and laundry detergent. You can get your own bar of Sea Vegetable from Lush and it will only cost you $7.95.
Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion
These cold winter months have taken a toll on my poor skin. It is embarrassingly dry, so much so that it gets flaky. I recently got to try out SKIN MD's Natural Shielding Lotion and I am pretty happy with the results. When I first put some in my hand it seemed a little milky so I thought it might not be too effective. However, it did a really good job of moisturizing my skin and I really like how it feels on my hands. It leaves them soft but with no residue - so as soon as I apply I can immediately go back to my previous activities. Most other lotions make my hands a little slippery or greasy and I don't like to use my computer or eat a snack when they are like that. I will definitely use this on my hands. Even after washing dishes they still felt moisturized instead of dry. SKIN MD's lotion is actually made using solar power - so it's eco-friendly and it's also vegan & cruelty free. I really recommend it for your hands or your children. It has no scent and it is even recommended by dermatologists for dry skin, eczema, and psoriasis. My oldest son is always complaining about itchy skin and this lotion really works well for him. It also comes in a SPF 15 formula which I think would be perfect for summer! Do I smell egg nog in your stocking?

One of my favorite ways to relax and unwind is a long, hot bath. During cold winter months this becomes even more enjoyable. My husband does not usually wear cologne but when I got a whiff of Usher VIP - I put a stop to that. Stop the tears with Drieyes
Our biggest bath time battle revolves around washing hair. My boys are both terrified of not just the shampoo burning their eyes but the very idea of water touching them. Apparently the only acceptable locations for water in the eyes are a pool, a beach, a water slide, water balloon fight, slip n'slide, water gun fight, well you get the idea.
