WaterWeek makes it easy to reduce

I admit it. I am guilty of buying the disposable plastic water bottles. I do recycle but as I walk past our overflowing bin - I feel like there has to be a better and cheaper way. The main reason I keep buying the water bottles is simply convenience. It's nice to grab one out of the fridge when I am on the go. I get rushed and don't have the time to find my water bottle and fill it. This is why I think WaterWeek from Reduce is genius. It is really the best solution I have come across for eliminating my desire to purchase a big pack of disposable water bottles.

How does WaterWeeek work? It comes with 5 cute bpa free water bottles that fit neatly into their included fridge tray. What I love about this is that I can fill up all 16 oz bottles and store them in my fridge just as I would with the disposable ones. When I am in a rush I just grab my bottle and go. They fit in my
purse and don't leak out. The fridge tray is a nice perk too because it keeps the bottle from falling over and it's easy to fill and transport. I always want to use reusable water bottles but I just forget in my rush. Now when I see them lined up neatly in the fridge - it's easy to remember. Once I drink the bottle I just toss it in the dishwasher and then refill it when I unload. This system works really well for me because there always seems to be a cold bottle waiting for me. An added bonus to using the WaterWeek system - the bottles seem to keep my water colder much longer than a plastic disposable bottle did.

I also LOVE that WaterWeek has kid sized bottles. These are life savers for me. I always grab one to keep in my purse. The smaller size is better for my children and they really prefer using it. I like that unlike plastic bottles - my 2 year old cannot squeeze the bottle together to create a water geyser all over the place. The spills seem to be accidental instead of entertainment with WaterWeek. Since the bottles have different colors and patterns - my kids can also tell which bottle belongs to who. This is wonderful because in addition to keeping my 2 year old's running nose germs getting into my 5 year old's mouth, they also stop the fights over which bottle belongs to which boy.

There are several styles to choose from: 2 style options for both kids & adults + they also offer an aluminium set in 16 oz. The prices for a 5 bottle WaterWeek set range from $17.99 - $34.99. Keep in mind that price is for 5 reusable bpa free bottles and a fridge tray. I have spent over $10 for just one water bottle before. The price is more than reasonable and if you factor in that you are doing your part to help reduce the 25 million bottles being disposed each day (INSANE) - this is one product you shouldn't pass up.

Simply Stated - This is definitely a product we should all have. I truly do use it daily. The only downfall I could find is that you can tell that repeated washings will cause the paint to fade or crack a bit.

Rock Love Peace

The Heirloom Teethers from Rock Love Peace are the kind of gift that you give to your child and they save it for their child and so on. These handmade wooden teethers are made in the US from FSC certified cherry wood. I think that the peace sign is too cute! The star was a big hit with my son. He liked the points of the star against his gums. The open shape was also very easy for him to hold. Even if you are not shopping for baby, Rock Love Peace has some great eco friendly options. Their Change Starter Kit is filled with cool goodies like a tree in the box and fair trade hot chocolate. Their tote bags are wonderful too!

100% Recycled Recycling Truck

How cool is this? This adorable Recycling Truck was actually made from 100% recycled milk jugs. It's so perfectly fitting that a toy that advocates recycling be made from recycled materials. Although this appeals to me - my sons don't know the difference. They just know that it is fun to play with! My youngest loves to push around this durable truck and pretty much ram it into everything. It's a tough one and has yet to show any wear regardless of how hard he tries. The truck comes complete with recycled cardboard images of bottles, cans, and paper. My 4 year old loved cutting out the images ( he is going through a cutting phase) and then being able to sort & insert them in the appropriate slots on the truck. He would use one of his batman characters to pretend to load the truck. Then of course it has to be unloaded at his pretend recycling center. Lots of fun for both children....if only they could share.

What's that smell in your stocking?

One whiff of these and suddenly all the other colored pencils seem boring. Smencils are made from recycled paper and gourmet liquid scents. And they do smell gourmet....they leave you with cravings. Probably not the best gift for someone on a diet. Their also environmentally friendly due to the recycled paper and biodegradable corn based packaging! Each pack comes with 10 scents/colors and the scents will actually last at least 2 years. Before discovering these my son would not use colored pencils. He hated them and I hated that he hated them because he would only use markers. Markers are the recipe for disaster in my house and I have the carpet, walls, pants, pillow, and even more evidence to prove it. In his eyes Smencils are amazing. Who am I kidding? I think they are amazing too!! Not just for kids - my friends would love them as well. Mrs. Brittany makes some amazing organic dough!

This gift box is so cute you hate to even wrap it up! Mrs. Brittany's Organic Preschool Fun Dough Deluxe Gift set has everything your child needs to get busy with their artistic side. Inside this adorable ribbon handled box is 3 7oz containers of fun dough, a 100% organic toddler apron, child sized wood rolling pin, and 4 wooden shape stampers. I am so impressed by the eco-friendly nature of this product. Even the packaging is made from recycled products, including the ribbon which is made from recycled water bottles (I didn't even know that was possible). Dandelion's Earth Friendly Goods

Being green is not only great for the environment but it is incredibly popular right now. I for one am really excited that people are jumping on the earth friendly bandwagon. Hopefully we will keep the earth in better shape and I also just love the creative products that are coming out. Dandelion has so many unique and wonderful products for your family. Their organic totes don't make you compromise on style. I love that someone has finally created a green tote that actually has multiple pockets. I can still be organized with this tote. I was sent the Canvas Diaper Bag to try out and I love it right down to the unique rope straps! It has plenty of space for all our baby gear and it even has stretchy side pockets for bottles. A Teething BonBon

A good teething toy is really hard to find. I am not a fan of those water filled plastic things that you freeze. It might just be me but they always seem to smell kinda funky and I don't want that scent in my babies mouth. My son is always looking for the next exciting thing to chew on but he rarely finds something he enjoys that also passes the mom test. Unfortunately for him I don't think that telephone cords and flip flops are good teethers. Dress Me Up has one of the few teethers that both my little guy and I can agree on. Little City Designs

What's not to love about the creative designs from this adorable Ventura couple? They work together to create high-quality & beautiful garments for their shop Little City Designs. Their passion towards art & design is reflected in the unique items that they sell and even more impressive - their creations are friendly to the environment. They use organic fabrics & eco-friendly inks.

Although they also offer lots of gorgeous tees for both men & women, I was drawn to their scarves! The scarf in the picture at the top is their new Sun & Sea Organic Cotton Scarf ($30). It's made using 100% organic cotton jersey and because of the contrasting color you have 2 scarves in one! It is such a bright breath of fresh air with the vivid colors & contrasting stitching.

I tried out the Organic Cotton Two-Sided Scarf ($34) in a flattering natural stripes & cream! It's also 100% organic cotton and I can attest to the fabulous softness of this scarf. It's just right for spring and could even be lightly draped for cool summer nights. Scarves are such an easy way to make a basic tee or tank look stylish!

Jack's Harvest

Organic. Nutritious. Delicious. I always want to feed my children the best. I just don't see how it is possible to fit another thing into my schedule and to be completely honest - I despise cooking. I try to escape the dinner duties whenever possible. I have heard negative things about jarred baby food but I just pacify my mind by buying the more expensive version in the organic section. After all, I ate it and I survived.

When I heard about Jack's Harvest, I was very intrigued. Could it be possible to feed my baby the best and not have to find the time to puree and mix it myself? Once you taste mom-created Jack's Harvest there is no going back. I don't see how you could ever replace the delicious heart shaped cubes with the jars of bland mush I pick up on aisle 10. I have tried the basic jarred baby food and it tastes nasty. I would choose to eat the food from Jack's Harvest. It is delectable. My three year old wanted to have his own too!

Besides the fabulous taste - you can rest easy knowing that all of the baby food created by Jack's Harvest is certified 100% organic by the Georgia Crop Improvement Association's Organic Certification Program. Your little one is much more susceptible to pesticides than you are, plus they eat so much of the same thing which can increase their exposure. They also use no Ascorbic acid (which is a preservative commonly used in baby food) that contains corn syrup and alters the vegetable/fruit's natural flavor. The less processed and mixed with fillers - the better the taste and the nutritional value for your child. I like the fact that Jack's Harvest is good for 3 months instead of 3 years.

The frozen heart cubes are the perfect size for your child. You simply melt them down in the microwave - in a heat resistant glass (don't use plastic because it could leech chemicals). The 1 oz. of food is more than enough to fill baby's tummy but you won't be stuck with leftovers. When your baby is a little older the 3 oz. size will work just as well. It's easy to mix flavors this way and the storage is a breeze. I feel so much better about serving my baby something I know is healthy and something that I myself would have no problem eating. I hate bananas but the blueberrytastic banana was tasty to me! The names & descriptions can make your mouth water and I promise you - they taste even better! I love to look at the ingredients because they are so simple and I recognize them all. There is no question in my mind about what is going into my baby's body.

Stylish Mom Find - TranquiliT

TranquiliT has a fantastic collection of Eco-luxe clothing that is perfect for yoga and so much more. I found the clothing to be both incredibly comfortable & extremely flattering. Designer Kimberly Wilson is doing her part for the environment but using eco-fabrics. All of the fabric used is either organic cotton or bamboo. Bamboo is great for keeping moisture away and it is luxuriously soft.

Even more impressive than the eco-fabrics is the long list of amazing contributions TranquiliT gives back to the environment. Every time a shipment is sent out they actually plant a tree to help offset the emissions caused by sending the shipment. All of their products are made sweat shop free and sewn in the USA. They even donate a percentage of all profits to Tranquil Space Foundation, a foundation that is dedicated to helping bring leadership, yoga, and creativity to women & girls.

TranquiliT has a selection of creative tops, dresses, and pants that I instantly fell in love with. I love the flattering cuts and smooth feel of the fabrics. My absolute favorite is the versatile Hoodie. The flowing fabric can be used in a variety of ways and I love how slimming it looks when you just let it drape in the front. The clothing available from TranquiliT is just right for any woman with an active lifestyle. You'll feel comfortable, light, and elegant. I gave up wearing anything uncomfortable the moment I had children and I am thrilled to find that you can have comfort without wearing sweat pants!

Good for the environment & for your wallet!

I for one am beyond thrilled to find a toy company that is not only is making a huge effort to care about are environment but one that has eliminated the need for batteries! O - Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am still amazed at the sheer amount of money I spend on batteries. I spent well over $35 just for batteries for the Christmas toys. From an environmental standpoint, I was shocked to realize that only 2% of batteries are even recycled....I guess I shouldn't have been that shocked though - seeing as how I have never recycled a battery. Shame on me!

Back to the point - the toys from Ecotronic don't use batteries and they still light up & make sounds. They work much like that hand crank flashlight you might have bought just in case. I was amazed at how long the toy would work after you cranked it for a mere minute or two. We played around with the Eco Rocket and my son was really into it! I thought the bright colors & lack of battery power was pretty awesome. He thought the way it counted down and lighted up to blast off was really cool. My son loves things that light up. His other favorite part was the little hatch that opens on the rocket. He had to find a little character that he could send up into space. Currently the Eco Rocket has become an essential part of his elaborate train setup. You take a train ride to the space station and then you can go for a ride on the Eco Rocket (you do have to have a ticket, but he will sell you one for the low price of one M&M).

Ecotronic has 8 cool toys to choose from like a Penguin Torch & a Eco Mic. The toys are all packaged in bio-degradable packaging which uses nothing but recycled paper. The package is free from all those annoying wire twist ties and hard plastic. Finally a child's toy that I can actually open (when did you start needing a screw driver to get a toy out - why are they so worried about a child opening a toy?)!
