Great Gifts - Earthlust

Earthlust has a fantastic selection of stainless steel bottles. I love the unique & fresh custom designs that they have to chose from. All of the bottles available at Earthlust use non-toxic pants and BPA free caps. They are also available in 3 different sizes. When you purchase a bottle from Earthlust you help to eliminate waste and you can breathe easy knowing you are not drinking any harmful chemicals. These would make perfect gifts for anyone on your shopping list. The hardest part now is deciding design to pick. I am partial to the Peacock but then again I also love the Flower, the Owl, and the Tree..... See them all for yourself by visiting Earthlust today!

You can enter to win a stainless steel water bottle in the design of your choosing from Earthlust! To enter to win you must answer 2 questions.... - 1) Which design would you choose (and choose carefully because should you win you will get that design) and 2) Give me your best cheap idea for a date night (I need some ideas...thanks for the help!). The deadline to enter is January 31st at midnight EST. As always you can double your winning chances by subscribing to Now What Baby.

1) The 1 Litre Tree

2) Date night: Have a picnic in your bedroom. Light candles around the room, throw a blanket over the bed and have a private picnic for two. You can go from fancy food to very, very inexpensive. The important part is the two of you are together alone!

For the date night I would say just take a walk if you live near town or if not drive to town and get out and walk and just talk. Sometimes you can get more out of doing that than anything. brewerchickey78(at)yahoo.com

My favorite one is the 20 oz Green Parsley. These are some of the nicest looking water bottles I have seen. Very very cool! Anyways..for the cheap date night, how about each packing each other a sack lunch and taking it to the nearest beach and watch the sunset.

Cheap date night: not really cheap - find a funky ethnic restaurant you have never been to and walk around a 'fun' neighborhood of stores, art galleries etc. Near us a couple of towns have 'Gallery Walks' once a week or once a month.

The design I would choose is the Tree.

A cheap date night I wish my hubby would do would be going to the local farmers market and finding everything to make dinner there (sometimes a challenge), picking up a movie and heading home to cook together.

For a cheap date night - in better weather, we like to grab a couple bails of hay in the back of the truck, head to the woods close to the river & start a small fire. I bring something that is yummy cold like fried chicken & apple fritters. Can turn into a super fun evening.

The "Green Parsley" Bottle is my favorite. I have two teenage sons who gave me a couple of "cheap" date night ideas. They can go bowling at our local university for practically nothing and there are also pool tables. During the winter, they like to rent movies and then sit in front of the fireplace and make s'mores or outside by the little firepit! Of course, they enjoy Guitar Hero a lot, too! Please enter me in your fabulous Earthlust bottle drawing. Many thanks, Cindi

I think that a great cheap date night would be to check out your local arts. My husband and I can got see a play at the local college for about 10.00 on a week night. Or the local High School for about 8.00. Or what about a date day instead of date night. Plan a play date for the kids and drop them off then catch a movie during the day for much cheaper prices. The next week switch with a friend and let them have a date day.

Unknown said...

I like the poppy design.

Cheap date night: My husband I take a hand-in-hand stroll through downtown and check out all of the holiday lights every year as a date night. After our stroll we stop in a local coffee shop or Starbucks and drink a hot chocolate. It's very cheap and it's nice to have some quality conversation (which is NEVER with two kids under 3 years old!).

2. i am the queen of cheap, yet as a mother of 3 under 4...this is tough. dates are few and far between. however, the last 2 have been fun. for one, my husband and i hit a local antique shop with a $10 limit, and set out in opposite directions in search of something that would fit the other. we had a theme, as it was our anniversary [ie. wood]. it was a blast!

and bonus...if you live near a casino, they often have some free lobby entertainment. we watched the spazmatics at bluechip for hours and had the best time in ages!!

ok one more...cheap comedy shows...usually funny even if the commedian is not. :)

3) My date night idea is sort of a combo of some other ones...

If it's cold and there is snow-
Take a canteen of some hot cocoa and another with some soup. Head to a local sled riding spot and have some good kiddie fun. Relive the carefree days with some snuggling down the hill on your sleds. Then when you are done cozy up on one and enjoy your soup and hot cocoa.

If it's nice out- do the same but perhaps some strawberries and chocolate and some sparkling juice and head to a playground with swings. What else can beat that feeling when you swing up and your feet are touching the sky. You can even have a contest on who can go the highest or jump off the farthest.

Just don't tell your kids where you have gone- they'll be jealous!

1) The OWL design is my fave. I love owls.

2) Try and find one of those paint your own ceramic places. You can choose something easy and cheaper like a light switch and draw your own design and paint it. The store will have all the supplies you need. It's probably not as cheap as a picnic, but it is a unique date. You're more relaxed because you're focused on an activity and talking with your date is just easier. Plus, if the date goes well, you have an excuse to get back together to pick up your masterpieces from the shop once they have been fired.

BTW - I'm also a new subscriber.

1) 1 Liter Tree
2) Got a B&N around? We love to go to Barnes and Noble with a coffee shop in it and the best is if that B&N has a local band venue on certain occasions. We peruse the books and magazines talking about what different titles bring up and then we grab a bev. and listen to some music. Such a great night for only a couple of bucks!

I like the 20 oz Poppy.
We tend to like to stay at home and watch a movie but going to a park for a hike would be a great choice too.

I would choose the 20 oz. Poppy bottle. It's cute and I love to tote a water bottle around.
Cheap date night? Get a redbox code for a free movie (tons of money saving mom websites have 'em) on a monday night, cook a great dessert that you might not usually make, put the kids to bed early, and pop popcorn watch a movie and relax. (I have a newborn so this has become our new date night for now)

Choosing my favorite was difficult, but I think I would choose the 20 oz silver parsley. As for the date night: First, swap overnight babysitting with someone you trust. Second, make dinner together and then eat it in a way that you will both enjoy. For some this may be by candlelight, for others it may be feeding each other, and for others it may be laying out a blanket and picnicking. Third, choose an activity you both enjoy at home that you are unable to typically do together. It may be watching a movie, turning on some music and dancing together, or even a hobby you both enjoy. Fourth, enjoy a shower or bath together and then turn in for an early night. What you choose to do after that is up to the two of you. In the morning, surprise him with breakfast in bed before the kiddos return.

I would choose the 13 oz leaves. Cheap date for me is to walk around the mall and buy a pretzel! Yes it might be cheesy but it beats sitting in the house sometime.

I think my fave is the dragonfly (although it's definitely not a landslide decision - they're all so great!) and I think a good cheap date is going for a walk in the woods or a park (or bicycling - whatever) or the beach...bring some food with you (I recommend leaving in the car so you aren't lugging around) and then have a picnic. This is all pending weather...but I honestly think some of the best meals are those shared over cheap food. Get a nice quiet booth in your local pizza shop and just sit down and chat. Nothing fancy - nothing pretentious - just chatting over good (CHEAP!!) grub (not recommended if you don't actually like TALKING to the date in question - ladies, you know what I'm talking about, it's not just men who have one thing on their mind sometimes lol).

For a cheap date I love a picnic in the park. Eating on a blanket under the trees and sky makes even a bologna sandwich seem romantic.

This is not a extra entry. I forgot to say what a cheap date could be. Walking in the park with a picnic lunch or renting old black and white movies and eating popcorn. jacquecurl@gmail.com
