Alphabotz Superphonic Decoder Cards

As the mother of a preschooler, I can attest that teaching them phonics can be tough. I have no idea how to really explain to them the wonders of silent e's, long vowels, and the "B" sound. Even though he is learning a great deal at school - I would really like to be able to help him progress at home and do it in a way that makes learning fun. Alphabotz Superphonic Decoder Cards are a really ingenious way to do this! They were named one of Dr. Toy's 100 Best Children's Products of 2009!! Created by a brilliant mom, these vibrant cards feature alphabotz (robots representing the alphabet) that all have cool personalities that allow your child to easily associate letters with their sounds and connect them with words. My son loves them (it doesn't hurt that he is robot crazed) and I have been amazed at how much he retains each time we look at them. Check out this example to get a better idea of what each card is like:

"
the letter “B.” The Alphabot named Boomer represents the “buh” sound. Boomer wears his letter (B) on his chest, and a ball on his head. Kids quickly discover that this little ’bot is a baseball player, lives in a bungalow in Bluebird Ballpark and has his own secret phrase: Bebop, batter, batter, brushback broom! Bang that baseball, bop, bam, boom! "

How cute is that? They even come with a card filled with 3 levels
of game ideas for your little one! I'm thinking that this one would make a great gift for the holiday season.
  • Wrap it up: They already come packaged in a cute pull out box but what about getting a stuffed robot friend to add to the gift bag?
  • Age: 3+
  • Price Tag: $19.95
  • Where to Buy: Alphabotz

This sounds so shallow, but I love the designs the best. They're quirky and fun, but of course I like that they help kids sound out the letters.
