I am finally back from my relaxing holiday vacation time. It was really a special holiday for my family this year! Connor was very excited about Santa coming for the first time, so that made things lots of fun for us. I have a few little things to share from my family's time together over the last two weeks:
Connor has recently decided he has super powers (see the picture above of him using his). This is pretty amusing for us because we have found it's possible to get him to do just about anything we say so long as we phrase it "can you use your super powers to do ----?" However, I'm not totally sure what he thinks his powers enable him to do other than be strong and run "super" fast.
I have noticed that Connor likes to use the sounds things make in place of the actual name for the item. For example - "Ho-ho" = Santa, "Meow-meow" = cat, and "Oh-oh ah-ah" = monkey.
Jackson has started to roll over and to laugh! He is also really into his hands. He wants to grab and hold everything. Yesterday he started reaching out for you when he wants you to pick him up - it really made me feel so special! Funny how something so small can almost make you cry!
Connor has chosen Home Alone as his new favorite movie - while I do enjoy this film a great deal more than Thomas the Train - he is developing some interesting habits from it. He is constantly trying to booby trap our home in case of bad guys. He ties a piece of yarn across the bottom step to trip them and lines up his cars to cause bad guys to slip. He also quotes to movie - there are about 3 lines in this film I would prefer not come out of his mouth....he quotes 2 of the 3. Weird how they know! He constantly says "Me am upstairs dummy" and "Look what you did, you little jerk". I can only hope that he won't say this to his teacher when he returns to school tomorrow but in the meantime I am thankful he hasn't chosen the 3rd line to repeat incessantly (the part about growing on his ass).
Lastly - I thought since I review kids toys I would update you as to what Santa & mommy gave to my little guys this year. Connor's Santa list consisted of a light up paintbrush (this is from Crayola - he saw the commercial on tv), a swimming dog (he found this at target - it's called Rescue Pets Swimming Dog I believe), a little vacuum that makes sounds, new glasses for mommy, a new desk for daddy, and something little for Jackson to keep in his pocket. This is verbatim what he asked me to write in his letter to Santa. He got all three items he requested for himself but his favorite two new toys are his noisy toy gun (it has a flashlight built in) and his gumball machine. I guess you never know with kids. Jackson got one of those jumping/excersaucer toys and he LOVES it. He has jumped higher than I thought was possible for a 4 month old and it is the reason I have time to write this right now! Thank you Fisher-price!
I really appreciate all of your patience in my absence. This week more giveaways & reviews will be up! I am also in the process of getting some feedback from the two winning families of Give Santa A Hand to share with you. My other project is getting the Valentine's Gift Guide up and running! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!!

Glad to see it! That's so funny, my 5 year old, Julien, uses sounds as names too. Ho-ho came to see us too & he left lots of presents under the ho-ho tree. I've never heard another kid do that until now. :)
