A MyPlate-Mate Update

You probably remember last Tuesday's Sanity Saver when I wrote about the MyPlate-Mate. At the time my camera was experiencing technical difficulties and I was unable to put up the video. Today I have the video up and a chance for you to win a MyPlate-Mate in your choice of color (white, pink, or blue)!! Read the review and watch the video and then make sure you enter to win!!

The MyPlate-Mate is a lifesaver for parents with kids who are independent. Actually, it's a must have for any parent who wants to be able to eat their dinner at the same time their child eats. I'm sure you are looking at the picture above going....hmmm...what is the world is that? It's the MyPlate-Mate and it has made dinner time a breeze. You simply place a plate inside the ring shape, it has a ridged area to put your plate into and it will keep it in place. The point of this contraption is that your child has an easy wall to press her food up against as she struggles to get it on her utensil. It is quick to put on, easy to take off, and fast to clean!

Here are some reasons why you should definitely try the MyPlate-Mate on your munchkin's plate. It is perfect to keep in your purse or diaper bag. I feel pretty silly bringing a special plate to put my child's meal on in a restaurant but I didn't feel weird about putting the MyPlate-Mate around the plate they served his meal on. The result was a dining out experience without food falling off the sides of his plate and a meal that he could actually feed to himself. For once, the whole family was finished eating at the same time. Another reason to try it out - it is so affordable at only $7.95. You can get two and not feel guilty. You really don't need to buy very many. I suggest one for home and one in the diaper bag for going out. You could also leave one at grandma's house!

To enter to win your own MyPlate-Mate visit their site and then comment back on this post about what you think the greatest benefit of having a MyPlate-Mate would be or why you want to win one. The deadline to enter is Sunday July 20 at midnight EST. Winners have 72 hours to respond before their prize is forfeited and a replacement winner is selected. Also you can double your winning chances by subscribing to our weekly email. If you are already a subscriber - remind me in your comment and I will put your name in an extra time. Good Luck!!

These are great because they are sooo versitile. When my best friend son gets old enough to spend the evenings with me, I can use this with him. When we all go out to eat together, I can get two of them and the kids and use them, and eat together. It's a really nice item.

My son turns 2 next month and he could really use this to help him out. He's pretty good with a fork but has a lot of trouble getting stuff that requires a spoon. This would be perfect! I love the fact that it helps your child successfully learn to use a utensil.

This would be great not only for the little ones, but for grandparents who have had strokes. That kind of general applicability is important to me!

What a great idea. I think the biggest benefit would be that it helps increase childs independence and confidence at meals. It helps out mom and dad by curbing messes.

I think this would really help my little one figure out how to use the fork/spoon. She usually ends up eating with her hands after a few attempts!

I love this product because it helps cut down on messes but more importantly, helps kids develop independence and that sense that their "big kids" and not babies.

My friend who has paralysis and no grip in his hands uses one of these, I never thought about them for kids! Great idea!

Seems like it helps kids actually get food on their utensil, so they won't get as frustrated.

anything that will help the little one learn how to use silverware is great. After all you want them to at least know how to use a knife and fork by 25

Because I believe this would help with my son and losing things on his plate when he slightly picks up his plate, this would hopefully eliminate food sliding off!

Wow the way my children eat this would be a godsend!

This is exactly what I've been looking for! I like the fact that you can take it off/put it on any child size plate. So I don't need 50 millioin special rimmed plates that I have to take apart. I can get away with just one of the rims!

mogrill said...

Wow this would be great. More food is usually on the table than still on my daughters plate!

With little kids I want them to learn how to do things themselves.
Its sometimes a struggle trying to eat with the plate sliding and trying to handle the fork or spoon.
This would save the stress of the plate sliding the child getting angry because the plate is moving and everyone in the end is happy and meal time is a pleasure instead of a aweful daily struggle.
Thank you for the chance to win a great invention for my little ones.

I would like to give this to my daughter so she gets a little less stressed by my granddaughter's messes. She is not as amused as I am. ;)

This is such a great idea. I can really see the benefit of not having to clean up after a toddler learning how to eat. My 2 year old has difficulty spooning things off a plate and knocks it all over the table sometimes. I'd love to have one of these to help her until she masters the art of eating.
