Dirty Little Secrets....

Alright moms, lets admit it, we all feel a little guilty sometimes. We are all pretty hard on ourselves and we all have a few dirty little secrets! The book Dirty Little Secrets of Otherwise Perfect Moms is such a fun read. First of all it makes you feel better about your little misdeeds and you can instantly relate to the confessions in the book. I found myself laughing out loud and thinking "I did that".

We have all been guilty of turning a blind eye to that food our child just ate of the floor or turning up the radio to drown out a repetitive munchkin. Authors Trisha Ashworth & Amy Nobile have come up with a winning book for all moms to enjoy! I think that this would make an awesome gift and it is the perfect way to remind yourself that you don't have to be perfect. No mom is perfect. The imperfections are what make us interesting and unique - and they give us something to giggle about with our friends! Click here to order your copy.

Moms if you would like to win this book comment on this post with one of your dirty little secrets! The deadline to enter is July 3rd at midnight EST. I will pick my favorite confession and I can't wait to hear what you have to share!! Winners have 72 hours to respond before forfeiting their prize and a replacement winner is chosen.I'm even going to leave a comment with one of my confessions. Good luck!!Best Blogger Tips

Hahaha What a fantastic book, I havent heard of it before today but definatly have to check it out! I am for sure one of those moms! Tried to make a friend of mine feel better abour her daughter falling and ended up coming up with all types of "Guess what I did?" stories! Silly things from accidentally throwing cheese at my 6 months old head (aiming for hubby, not a good pitcher!) to slipping my toddler some coke zero in his sippy cup to eat with his pizza - hey atleast its cafine free! :)

too many dirty little secrets to put all in one comment box. :) I have everything from the naughty habit of co-sleeping, to hiding things in food. My husband grew up in Africa with a limited variety of foods, and he is the most picky eater now because of it, so i am constantly hiding things in his food..."no, there is no cheese in this", just trying to get him to taste and experience something new, hopefully finding something he will like so that I wont have to eat french fries and waffles for the rest of my life. :)

I scanned this book at the store the other day- I was cracking up!

My son refuses to eat veggies so I just gave up giving them to him at this point! Is that terrible? He loves everything but veggies and I'm tired of picking up smashed green beans off the floor!

I've only been a mommy for 2 months now, so I don't have very many secrets just yet. Altho I have a couple of times on the weekend played on the computer while baby was sleeping then told hubby she kept me up so he would let me nap. Gotta steal the "me time" when I can!

my son only gets a bath 2-3 times a week. He gets wiped down with a wet wipe at each diaper change, but that it.

Oh, I would love to read this book. My dirty secret: I have caught the baby watching law & Order when we thought he was nursing or playing (while we were watching). Oops.

That book looks like a fun read. My dirty little secret? I let my son play in his crib while I'm on the computer. Sounds OK but sometimes I get a little carried away on my favorite sites and realize I let him play just a little longer than I should have. But at least he's happy playing right? :)

I have been occasionally guilty of letting TV or a kids movie entertain my kids when I need a moment to myself! I am a subcriber.

Even though my son is only 9 months old, and the AAP recommends no TV until he's 2, I let him watch TV because it gives me time to put on my make up each day.

I bought my daughter a portable dvd player so I can watch a couple of my favorite shows during the week.

hmm I have alot of little things I do just to get by with my daughter sometimes. A no-no I committed yesterday was give my daughter soda (oh yes the caffeinated kind) just to get her to quit fussin' in the car. She's 2 not a newborn, so I think its maybe a little less bad. I could go on and on, but I don't want to get the evil eye so that's all I'll share... for now. Great giveaway, thanks!

My daughter hates carrots, and once we were over someone's house for dinner and they made carrot cake. I knew she wouldn't eat it if she heard the name, so I told her it was cream cheese cake. She ate every bite and said it was delicious! Afterwards, we told her and she just couldn't believe she ate carrots.

My son is on a no-meat kick these days. Even on Sundays when we like to BBQ, he just won't do it. Not a hamburger...not a hot dog...nothing. He's not taking a stance for being vegan or anything (he just turned 5), so I'm guessing this too shall pass. In the meantime, I allow him to eat a healthy dose of ketchup sandwiched between two hamburger buns. Yuck.

This sounds like an awesome book!!! I love your "cupcake" theme too. LOL!

My dirty little secret... I'm a stay at home/work from home mom but my kids are at school all day and some days I just don't feel like cleaning or doing much else. So I'll lounge around and read a book on the balcony and enjoy the fresh air or watch some great old movie on TV with my feet up and a glass of ice tea and then just before my husband gets home I put the dust rags and the mop out and make it LOOK like I was cleaning and I just say that I was cleaning but I never finished.

Do I feel guilty about it? YEAH!!!! But sometimes us moms need a bit of ME time. So I get the time without the guilt from my hubby. Ha Ha.

I have on occasion, let the tv baby sit my kiddos while I'm trying to get work done around the house :)

I also barely ever let my kid bath every day. I don't really know why everyone thinks that it is needed. It dries up their skin so badly & it's not like they have b.o. LOL

Sounds like an awesome book.. as for dirty little secret?

Hmmm.. My son won't really eat veggies... so I've just put them on the backburner.. so I make sure he still gets the vitamins he needs but I feel like an awful Mommy but I can't force him.. you know?

LOL

My biggest issue is letting the tv babysit the kids.

I tell the kids that it is time for bed so mommy can get laundry and dishes done. But actually, once they're in bed, it's time for "The Office" and "Lost"!

Well my husband and I were totally against Webkinz at first but when we saw how well they kept our daughter entertained, for hours on end, well let's just say she has over 20 now. I wish I could keep this anonymous but then I couldn't win the book :)

When my children were younger I would tell my husband that they ate the last candy bar, piece of cake, etc. They now rat me out when I try to pass the blame onto them.

I really want to read this book :) One of my dirty little secrets is that at the end of a long day I'll turn on the tv and sit with the baby so I can get a little bit of a break.

whenever i give my toddler a sweet treat like a cookie or rice krispy treat I always give him just half so it's not sugar overload. Instead of saving the other half for later...I always eat it myself.

I bribe my daughter with sweets. I do! It's terrible. An m&m for peepeeing on the potty, a marshmallow for sleeping at naptime...OMGosh, I'm so bad!

Holy moly you have lots of give aways. Hmmm..I'm a fairly new mom (She turns one year in three weeks!), so I don't have many secrets yet...We co-sleep, we don't let her cry it out...we use disposable diapers(I cringe every time I put them in the trash)...I'll come back when I have more!

My dirty little secret is that, sometimes I buy my favorite ice cream and hide it in the freezer, or tell them its gone, just so I can have the rest! I know this is horrible, but my kids are in no way deprived of good nutrition!

This book is on my summer reading list! I would love to win it!

My dirty little secret is that my son watches too much TV somedays while I am on the computer, when we should be reading or doing other "educational" activities:)

Hmm...I feel I have a few little secrets that I'm probably not thinking of right now. When my 22 month old has barely eaten anything on his plate and his saying, "all done, all done" waving his hands in the air, I put on an episode of signing time on my laptop computer and sit it on the dining room table. He's usually so distracted by it by the end of the show he's finished all his food. Sneaky, sneaky. (I've also used that for when I need a moment to myself) He also only likes one kind of veggies, carrots, so I still feed him baby food. 2nd foods no less. Hey, he still likes it and it helps him get his veggies in! I have no idea when I'll get to stop that!

Looks like I'm not alone in my secrets - laying down with my 2 year old to get him to sleep at night and then letting him into my bed when he comes into my room at midnight, giving him treats to sit on the potty (we haven't even been successful at filling it yet!), letting him watch TV so I can get some work done. Plus, I often sneak my purchases of new books into the house without telling my hubby....

With my first baby I boiled pacifiers and reboiled them after every drop on the floor. With my second child, I would simply rub them against my pants to get dirt off and pop it right back in.
